Govindlal Vora

The six decades of fearless and unbiased journalism has not only earned him respect but also introduced the state of Chhattisgarh to the world. Imagining Chhattisgarh’s journalism without his leadership is a hard nut to crack. He was integral member of many associations working towards the wellbeing and betterment of journalists. Govindlal Vora was the driving force behind the foundation of Raipur Press Club. He believed that the young journalists needed to develop strong principles and should adopt an honest approach in covering any news, issue or event. He wanted the journalists to meet and discuss new ideas to empower the national journalism.

Nothing stayed untouched by Govindlal Vora. He was the Director of the Chhattisgarh Hindi Literature Convention. He also encouraged the foundation of the press community at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University. In parallel, he stayed an active member in many social institutions like ’Gram Seva Samiti’ and ‘Krishi Gaurakshini’ which operated on the principles and visions of Mahatma Gandhi.
